NEHS 50th Reunion

Thirty-two graduates and classmates from the North East High School Class of 1959 celebrated their 50th Reunion Sept. 19 at the Wellwood Club in Charlestown. Class members traveled from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware to join their friends who reside in the Cecil County and Harford County area. Special guest for the evening was Mr. James Baker, retired teacher of the Class of “59.

Martin’s Food Fighting Hunger

Martin’s Food Markets and Giant Food Stores donated $500,000 to fight hunger throughout its operating area as a result of the company’s annual Bag Hunger campaign. During the two-week, in-store campaign, customers were asked to donate $1 at the checkout to benefit regional food banks and local pantries. More than 85 regional food banks, local pantries and soup kitchens were among those who benefited from this year’s campaign, including Ray of Hope Mission, which received $3,300.

Baldwin

Logan James Baldwin was born Sept. 10 to Jamie and Ryan Baldwin of Richmond, Va. His proud grandparents are Sue and Scott Vivian of North East and Kelle and Roy Baldwin of Elkton.

Loveless

Dane Tippo Loveless celebrated his sixth birthday on October 8. He is the son of April and Chris Loveless of North East. His grandparents are Lynn and John Tippo and Carole Loveless, all of North East. His great-grandmothers are Faye Brockman of North East and Etta Meck of Perryville. Dane has a younger sister, Mallory.

McKay

Air Force Airman Richard P. McKay has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of Donna and Charles Sexton of Rising Sun, and a 2009 graduate of Rising Sun High School.

Moore

Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Dennis R. Moore is a C-5M, Super Galaxy airlifter aircraft crew member who unofficially set 41 world records in a single flight taking off from Dover Air Force Base, Del.

Evans

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Jason J. Evans, son of Jo Ann Evans of Sanford, N.C. and John D. Evans of Elkton, and fellow sailors of Patrol Squadron 10 “Red Lancers” (VP-10), Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla., recently completed the fourth month of their six-month deployment to the Navy’s Africa Command and Central Command, operating from bases in Qatar, Djibouti, and Japan.

Students

Michael Hudecheck of Perryville, a senior at Babson College, recently qualified for the school’s spring semester Dean’s List, which recognizes outstanding student scholarship.
